SUGGESTED AREAS IN THE WORKPLACE TO REUSE DISPOSABLE GLOVES
With COVID-19 not quite yet a thing of the past, there will likely be supply issues when it comes to disposable gloves for some time. This means, we all need to do our part to make our supply stretch further.
In an ideal world, disposable gloves would be one-time use products, to be immediately disposed of. Disposable gloves are not designed to be used multiple times because their protective value decreases with each wear or wash. Particularly if you are using disposable gloves to protect against germs when you’re out and about, not in your occupation, you’re better off just regularly washing your hands with soap and water because the disposable gloves aren’t really providing accurate protection.
However, in order to make the supply go a little further, we’ve rounded up a list of potential areas where you could get away with re-using disposable gloves if you absolutely need to. Of course, whenever you notice a sign of damage, including rips and tears or holes, you should immediately replace your gloves.
You can get away with reusing disposable gloves a few extra times in the following areas:
Laundry Services
Recycling
Travel Industry
Law Enforcement
Janitorial Services
Hospitality Industry
Laboratory Workers
Pharmacy or Drug Stores
Postal and Delivery Services
Border Protection
Business Travelers
Non-Patient Emergency Medical Services
Grocery Store Employees
